The theme for this forum is Strengthening the Use of Country Safeguard System (CSS). CSS Reports were launched during the event and the proposed action plan in the report. Various initiatives in pursuit of strengthening the use of country safeguard systems were presented as well.
This forum for World Bank-assisted projects started more than three years ago. It is now a regular activity held to serve as venue for sharing experiences, lessons learned and best practices on implementing safeguards for World Bank-financed projects, as well as a venue for discussing and resolving safeguard policy and implementation issues that hinder project implementation.
This "by invitation" event were participated in by oversight and regulatory agencies such as the DENR, NCIP and NEDA, representatives from Congress and Senate, and development partners.
