B-SPAN is a webcasting service that presents World Bank seminars, workshops, and conferences on a variety of sustainable development and poverty reduction issues via streaming video. B-SPAN streams these events on the Internet, archives them on the B-SPAN web site, offers them in their original unedited format, and provides indexing for quick access to specific speakers. B-SPAN's webcasts are free and available to anyone with access to the Internet. Users need only to download a free version of RealPlayer, a software that allows the playing of archived videos on a personal computer.
YOUTH, INCLUSION, AND EMPOWERMENT THROUGH BROADCAST TELEVISION: KABATAAN NEWS NETWORK

The seminar was organized by the Social Development Department of the World Bank and the UNICEF. It showcased a case study from UNICEFin the Philippines. The Kabataan News Network (KNN) is the first network TV show planned, directed, shot and written by youth in the Philippines. Reaching a national TV audience each week, year round, the show provides a unique vehicle for adolescent development and participation.
SEMINAR ON DECENTRALIZATION IN EAST ASIA AND THE PHILIPPINES

The Center for Local and Regional Governance at the University of the Philippines, the National College of Public Administration and Governance, and the World Bank co-organized a high level seminar on Decentralization in East Asia and the Philippines on June 14, 2005, in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The seminar shared the lessons and experiences in the region on decentralization to influential audiences and decision makers in government and civil society.
